What it measures

Reported in g/dL on Indian reports and g/L internationally, differing by a factor of ten. Because the liver makes it and it survives in circulation for weeks, albumin reflects a longer stretch of time than the liver enzymes do — it is a slow number on a panel of fast ones, which is why a drift in it across several reports carries more weight than any single reading.
